National Road Safety Council (NRSC) – World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims

When the National Road Safety Council (NRSC), a non-profit, set out to commemorate the United Nations’ World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims, we were tasked with creating an innovative and tactical push across traditional and online media to resonate with people across the country, while showing solidarity with the global mission. The result was a series of powerful personal stories that documented the long-term implications of motor vehicle crashes. For decades, families had been forced to grapple with the loss of loved ones, immobilised by fear, guilt, and anger, and for the first time, they were speaking out. From a mother mourning the loss of her son 20 years after his tragic death, to the horrific accident where a brave and resilient teen amputee was the victim of a careless driver. The stories rocked the nation and received an outpouring of emotions across TV, radio, print and online outlets, as readers empathised with the grief and heartbreaking burden the families were bearing.
